Day 1

I chose to volunteer at Ronald McDonald house because I had a connection through the Head of Marketing, Ryan Wilkins. When I got to the house on the first day, I met, Program Manager, Kate Ziegler, who is in charge of all the volunteers. She gave me a tour of the house which is actually more of a hotel. I learned that it is the largest Ronald McDonald House in the country and is expanding even more in the spring. What Ronald McDonald House does is provide a home for families from out of town who have a family member in a local hospital such as Children's Hospital right across the street. I basically just got a tour of this 3 floor, caring, house/hotel and put a bunch of labels on various items.
